City advises of critical electricity maintenance in Langa area

The City advises Langa residents of upcoming critical electricity supply interruptions for infrastructure maintenance, which will be carried out on Tuesday, 17 March 2026 and on Thursday, 19 March 2026. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused while the essential maintenance is being carried out.

It is important to note that interruptions to supply will only impact the areas on the maps and only on the relevant dates. The work will be carried out from 08:00 to 18:00, if all goes to plan. The maintenance will be carried out on:

Tuesday, 17 March 2026: Langa Station 1 and Langa Station 2
Thursday, 19 March 2026: Bhunga Avenue, Haarlem and Papu Square substations

Please note:

The electricity supply could be restored at any time and customers must please treat all electrical installations as live for the full duration of the planned maintenance work. Residents are encouraged to switch off appliances as a precaution to avoid damage caused by power surges when the power comes back on. The City apologises for any inconvenience caused and thanks residents for their cooperation.
